Over the years, one of the most common industrial lift equipment is the scissor lift table. The scissor lift table merely is describing with the noun scissor because it employs a scissor mechanism to raise or lower heavy-duty goods. However, this is the ideal function of a lift table. Simultaneously, a few additional activities include material handling, loading of the vehicle, and positioning materials on the right pallet within the factory or warehouse as the case may be. The Scissor lift table is recommended for hygienic production processes, whether relating to food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
A scissor lift table has a unique configuration and design that meets industrial standards; therefore, it incorporates hydraulic and electric-powered pumps that actuate the scissor lifting mechanism. The industrial equipment helps to complete most logistics need in the different industrial sectors such as food, textile, recycling, and pharmaceuticals. The scissor lifting table can be categorized into three groups, and they are;
Single Scissor Lift Table
This scissor lift table is designed with a flat and smooth surface, and primarily, it has a single set of scissors and one hydraulic cylinder. It can be used to solve problems within the industry ranging from stacking, machine feeding, etc.
Double Scissor Lift Table
The double scissor lift table is designed to help achieve a greater lifting height and a larger surface for material loading. It has two sets of scissors and hydraulic cylinders, including a flat surface for lifting. The double scissor lift table helps save ample time by handling twice as much as the single scissor lift table can achieve.
Dual Scissor Lift Table
This involves all the machine set incorporated or installed to become one, and the aim is to combine the effort or others to derive an agreed result.
So, How Does a Scissor Lift Table Work?
Raising the Lift Table
The scissor lift table legs are connected to the equipment base and platform. Therefore, the platform rises following a coordinated vertical direction while the legs of the scissor open. Any time a lift table is raised, this act is supported by a column of fluid that is held in a cylinder by a check valve. Raising the lift table to any height is the function of the hydraulic pump and the auto-motor turning it. If it needs to be raised in a faster mode, additional horsepower will be required, which would significantly improve the capacity.
Lowering the Lift Table
One of the popular ways a scissor lift table works is by lowering the lift. Lowering the lift is a function of the level of how the fluid leaves the cylinder. The lowering occurs when the down valve (usually closed) allows fluid from the cylinder at a highly controlled level.
Moving on a Rail
Most scissor lifting table has a foot tire, so this helps you move heavy loads within a space. The rails in the warehouse or other industrial sphere are installed to ensure that the scissor lift table move loads faster through the rail installed. It could be a straight-line movement or a nearly curved rail.
